3Framers 千葉工作所流木のオブジェ C02

水野幸一（陶磁器）、千葉工作所（金工）、EVEN Furniture（木工）3作家により、咋年末にROUND ROBINにて行われた流木や自然の造形をテーマとした企画展「3Framers」にて発表された作品です。

これまでそれぞれの分野で高い技術に裏打ちされた純度の高い作品を作り続けてきた3作家が、流木などのコントロールできない自然の造形を作品の中に取り込もうという新しい挑戦ともいえます。

流木に備わった不均一さ、ゆがみ、欠け、癖。それらは従来の「設計とコントロール」の枠からはみ出した、“計画外の美” を孕んでいます。本企画では、各作家の技法と、流木の“雑味を含んだ形”を掛け合わせ、自然とデザインのバランス点を探る試みを行いました。

お互いの高度な技術をリスペクトしながら、意図と偶然のあいだに身を置き、素材に対して“委ねる”感覚を楽しんでいます。

千葉工作所

1976 名古屋市南区で鉄工所としてスタート。
初期は自動車関連のパーツ製作など、一般的な鉄工業務を軸に事業を展開していましたが、三代目の代表である千葉直樹氏は大学でデザインを学び、家業に携わるなかで金属工作の可能性を模索。

2000年頃から、千葉工作所は従来の鉄工所としての役割に加え、日々の暮らしに寄り添う金属プロダクトの設計・製作を行なっています。
